NEW MEMBERS / CLUB CAPACITY
The club has reached and exceeded capacity. With reduced volunteers running the club and a shortage of umpires, team numbers are looking like they will be reduced for the Summer 22-23 season. Summer registrations will open up first to current winter players only. If there are any spots to fill, we will offer registration to players from last summer or new players to the club. It is quite unlikely that Glenunga will have many places to offer for new players to the club this coming summer.
TEAMS AND FRIENDS
The team selection process is complex and rarely simple. Teams are selected by the selection committee (Coaches and committee members). Alot of factors are taken into consideration when selecting teams including skills, positions played, height, strengths and weaknesses, coachability, attitude, experience and age. Also, sometimes it is simply down to numbers, we have to fill all teams and changes need to be made from season to season to fill all teams.
We do not guarantee a spot on a team with specific friends and will not change teams once they are selected and sent out. We try to make all teams competitive as best we can. Teams will not always stay the same, as children age up into different age groups at different times and as players change sports or clubs and new players join each season there are changes to deal with. We encourage all players to embrace these changes that are inevitable when playing team sports.

These small jobs are to be rotated around to all players / families within the team. This is simply a part of playing in community sporting club.

Summer season requires more volunteer hours than winter with duties at the city court to be rostered and covered by parents. Volunteering can consist of Covid Marshal duties, to staff the entrances and exits at city courts, club room duties at the city courts, or the annual working bee at the SAUCNA city courts. The club will not swap and change dates when you are rostered. If you are rostered, you will need to make yourself available, arrange to for someone else to cover your voluntary hours.
UNIFORMS
Uniforms will need to be purchased through the Nelson Teamwear online portal which is opened up prior to the beginning of the season, the portal is open for a limited time to allow for production and delivery in time for the start of each season.
Incorrect sizes cannot be swapped once purchased as dresses are made made to order. It is your responsibility to ensure you have ordered your uniform when the portal is open, so they will be ready for the start of season.
Uniforms are required to cover the buttocks of a player when they are standing still with their arms raised. Navy or black sports shorts are to be worn under the uniform but shorts should not exceed the length of the dress. If your uniform is too short, you may not be able to take the court as per SAUCNA uniform policy.
LATE REGISTRATIONS
Late registrations will only be considered if a suitable place is available in the correct age group, or in the event of a late cancellation. Teams do fill quickly, please ensure you register and pay on time to ensure a spot on a team and to avoid disappoinment.
